Miss Virginia Takes Miss America 2010 CrownPenny Geiszler, TFTJ StaffJanuary 30, 2010 he public voted in Miss Oklahoma Taylor Treat, Miss Arkansas Sarah Slocum and Miss Kentucky Mallory Ervin. The judges picked Miss Tennessee Stefanie Wittler, Miss Colorado Katie Layman, Miss California Kristy Cavinder, Miss Indiana Nicole Pollard, Miss Hawaii Raeceen Woolford, Miss Louisiana Katherine Putnam, Miss District of Columbia Jennifer Corey, Miss New Mexico Nicole Miner, Miss Virginia Caressa Cameron, Miss Texas Kristen Blair and Miss Nebraska Brittany Jeffers. The contestants themselves then voted in Miss Oregon CC Barber. The first order of competition was for swimsuit or lifestyle and fitness. The delegates wore two piece black bikinis. The next cut was to twelve. Those delegates were Miss Oklahoma Taylor Treat, Miss Louisiana Katherine Putnam, Miss Hawaii Raeceen Woolford, Miss Nebraska Brittany Jeffers, Miss Virginia Caressa Cameron, Miss New Mexico Nicole Miner, Miss Colorado Katie Layman, Miss DC Jennifer Corey, Miss Tennessee Stefanie Wittler, Miss Kentucky Mallory Ervin, Miss Texas Kristen Blair, and Miss California Kristy Cavinder. The ladies then modeled their beautiful and colorful gowns. These twelve delegates then dressed for their talent presentations, but only ten were called to perform. Those ten were Miss California (ballet en pointe); Miss Virginia (vocal); Miss DC (vocal); Miss New Mexico (vocal); Miss Louisiana (piano); Miss Nebraska (Jazz dance); Miss Tennessee (vocal); Miss Texas (vocal); Miss Kentucky (vocal); and Miss Hawaii (Hula). From there the final top seven were announced. Aach of these delegates woul receive a question asked by "people on the street", The final top seven were Miss California Kristy Cavinder; Miss New Mexico Nicole Miner; Miss Virginia Caressa Cameron; Miss Hawaii Raeceen Woolford; Miss Tennessee Stefanie Wittler; Miss Louisiana Katherine Putnam; and Miss Kentucky Mallory Ervin. After a commercial break the final results were read. The fourth runner up was Miss Kentucky Mallory Ervin; third runner up was Miss Louisiana Katherine Putnam; second runner up was Miss Tennessee Stefanie Wittler; and first runner up was Miss California Kristie Cavinder. Miss Virginia Caressa Cameron won the 2010 Miss America title Saturday night after strutting in a yellow dress, belting Beyonce's "Listen" from "Dreamgirls" and telling kids they should get outside more often.
