Jessica AponteNational American Miss New York Junior TeenMiss Jessica Aponte, has earned the prestigious title of the 2008 National American Miss New York Junior Teen on August 11, 2008 in Brooklyn New York. She competed among 95 other young women to capture the title. She will be attending the National Pageant to be held in Anaheim, California at Disneyland during Thanksgiving week, representing the great state of New York, where she will have the opportunity to win her share of over $500,000 in cash and prizes. The National American Miss Pageants are dedicated to celebrating America's greatness and encouraging its future leaders. Each year, the National American Miss Pageants awards 1.5 Million dollars in cash, scholarships and prizes to recognize and assist the development of young women nationwide. National American Miss is dedicated to developing the success of young women across our nation with a program that is designed to be age-appropriate and family-oriented. Pageants are held in each state for girls ages four to eighteen in five different age divisions. Jessica completed the Southern Dutchess Chamber of Commerce Youth Leadership Program and is the recipient of the Youth Volunteer Award from the Mid-Hudson Children's Museum. She is also the recipient of the Presidents Volunteer Service Silver Award for committing 75 hours of volunteer service; her goal is to obtain the Gold Award. Jessica started an Upstate New York Chapter for Love Letters Random Cards of Kindness, Inc., and the mission is to create inspirational homemade cards for children with life threatening illnesses. She holds events at her high school and local library and various functions. In her spare time she enjoys spending quality time with her family, staying active in competitive sports, singing, dancing and playing the trumpet. |
