By Devon Lee, TFTJ StaffPosted: December 22, 2007 When preparing for a pageant so many things must be done before the pageant week. Delegates need ways to save money when faced with all the expenses involved in entering a pageant. Expenses include, but are not limited to, hair care and styling, make-up, entry fees, travel, photos, program ads and clothing! Now, one thing is made simple for you... wardrobe! "Thinking about my experience in pageantry, one of the biggest expenses is clothing," says Lauren Wanger, owner of The Pageant Superstore. Clothing requirements can include outfits for orientation, rehearsal, weekend
events, dinners, and competition! That means interview suit, swim wear or fitness
attire, fashion wear, and evening gown! How does a contestant afford it all?
And, can one look great without breaking the bank? Recently there has been an resurgence of online pageant consignment shops.
These online stores allow women to buy all of their pageant apparel for low
prices. When the show is over, women can go back and sell their items for just
a few dollars. After learning web design, Lauren started www.pageantsuperstore.com. She strived to create a user friendly site where women would have easy access to great clothing. "In addition, as a national title holder, I realized I could not wear
the same outfit twice because of photographs posted on the web and in newspapers
and magazines!" laments Lauren. "I needed a new outfit for every appearance!"
