As someone who has been involved in pageantry for more years than many of the readers here on TFTJ (seriously!), you cannot imagine how many times I have heard from organizations across the country their skepticism when they are approached by a “queen” (local, state or even of the national level). I share with them that today’s queens (or titleholders as some like to be called) are of a new generation, that they are here to help improve the environment, empower other women, make a positive impact … and then BAM!
