Click here for pictures of the event! The Miss America's Outstanding Teen pageant was held August 24-28, 2010. The reigning Miss America's Outstanding Teen 2009 Jeanette Morelan was on hand to crown her successor.
The judges selecting the new Miss America's Outstanding Teen 2010 are: Maria DeSantis: At the age of 17, Maria DeSantis was crowned the second Miss America's Outstanding Teen, representing the state of New York; Jodi Fonfa is one of the most exciting and motivating fitness experts in the country. For the past 25 years, Jodi has made an impact on the fitness industry through her innovative style, videos, personal appearances and print features; Jason La Padura Jason La Padura is a native New Yorker who began working in show business at the age of 10. Before becoming an award-winning casting director, he was an actor and stage manager working on and Off-Broadway; Jason La Padura Jason La Padura is a native New Yorker who began working in show business at the age of 10. Before becoming an award-winning casting director, he was an actor and stage manager working on and Off-Broadway, For the last 20 years, Robbie has choreographed and directed numerous live events including two Super Bowl Half-Time Shows, starring New Kids on the Block, Patti LaBelle, and Tony Bennett; and countless television specials with such stars as Mariah Carey, Brian Setzer, Tom Hanks, Nell Carter, Rita Moreno, Sandi Patti, Betty White, Carol Channing, Michael Feinstein and Tommy Tune; Jana Kerr Pettey is the Publisher/Editorial Director of national teen magazine Justine® and also the President of Justeen, LLC, the magazine's parent. She was an integral part of the founding team in 2004 when Justine® was recognized as one of the best launches of the year; Katie Stam was crowned the first Miss America from Indiana. She is anxiously awaiting the national release of her first children's book entitled, "I Want to Be Miss America," as well as her national media and book tour; and Tina Wells People often wonder if it is possible to build a successful career doing what they love. Tina Wells, CEO of Buzz Marketing Group, is in her 14th year of doing just that. Embracing her passion for fashion and her fascination with pop culture, Tina began writing reviews on companies and their products that target youth for the New Girl Times, when she was just 16. Buzz Marketing Group is a marketing agency that specializes in youth needs, desires, and trend. from the state of Indiana in the pageant's 88-year history.
Final Results
The new Miss America's Outstanding Teen 2010 is Lacey Russ, who competed as Miss Oklahoma's Outstanding Teen. She won a $30,000 scholarship. Lacey performed a piano piece that was a combination of Bach's Prelude XXI and Beethoven's Sonata Pathetique and spoke of her platform P.U.R.E Excellence in order to win the hearts of the audience and judges.
Lacey is from Cordell, OK where she will be starting her senior year at Cordell High School. Ranked number one in her class she is a busy young lady. She is a cheerleader, serves on the student council, plays basketball and is a member of the honor band.
The first runner up and winner of a $15,000 scholarship was Miss Alabama's Outstanding Teen Scarlett Walker. The second runner up and winner of a $10,000 scholarship was Miss Georgia's Outstanding Teen Camille Sims; third runner up and winner of a $5,000 scholarship was Miss Washington's Outstanding Teen Victoria Renard; and fourth runner up and a $3,000 scholarship was Miss Virginia's Outstanding Teen Courtney Jamison.
The remaining semifinfinalists and winner of a $1,500 scholarship were: Miss Indiana's Outstanding Teen Katelyn Marak; Miss Kentucky's Outstanding Teen Laura Jones; Miss Michigan's Outstanding Teen Brooke Rowland; Miss Ohio's Outstanding Teen Cecili Weber; and Miss Pennsylvania's Outstanding Teen Jocelyn Gruber.

Lacey Russ is a 16 year-old Senior attending Cordell High School in Cordell, Oklahoma. Lacey is ranked First in her class with a 4.0 G.P.A., has received the President’s Academic Achievement Award, All-American Scholar, the Outstanding Academic Performance, and scored in the Top Five Percent of the ACT. Lacey was selected for the prestigious Leadership Oklahoma’s Youth Leadership Class and been named to the Superintendent’s Honor Roll.
Lacey is an accomplished vocalist and pianist, as well as writes her own lyrics and music. Being a diversified performer, Lacey was named to the Honor Band, First Chair Flute as well as being an All-Star and All-American Cheerleader. Sometimes performing even means joining the team! That’s right – Lacey is a member of the Cordell Girls Basketball team. Watch out – she can sing, play an instrument and has a great three-pointer!
During her reign, Lacey looks forward to promoting her platform P.U.R.E. Excellence. During the past four years, she has worked with Oklahoma youth throughout the state discussing their options and endless possibilities. She has great hope for the youth of Oklahoma to help them better their self-esteem, show them by leading by example and most of all – challenging them to LIVE BEST not just better.
