Click here for pictures of the event! The 60th Miss World pageant took place in Sanya, China on October 30, 2010. During the final show on October 30th, as reported by Miss World’s Official Website, there will be 25 semi finalists fighting for the crown. That will be 5 winners from the fast-track events, plus 20 other lucky beauties who will be selected by the panel of judges.
The reigning Miss World 2009 Kaiane Aldorino was on hand to crown her successor.
Final Results
The new Miss World 2010 is Miss United States Alexandria Mills. This is the United States first win in 20 years!
The first runner up was Miss Botswana, Emma Wareus; second runner up was Miss Venezuela, Adriana Vasini; third runner up was Miss Ireland, Emma Britt; fourth runner up was Miss China, Xang Tiao; fifth runner up was Miss Norway, Mariann Birkedal; and sixth runner up was Miss Italy, Giada Pezzaioli.
The remaining semifinalists were: Bahamas (Braneka Bassett), Canada (Denise Garrido), Colombia (Laura Palacio), France (Virginie Dechenaud), French Polynesia (Mihilani Teixeira), Germany (Susanna Kobylinski), Kenya (Natasha Metto), Mongolia (Sarnai Amar), Namibia (Odile Gertze), Paraguay (Egny Eckert), Puerto Rico (Yara Lasanta), Russia (Irina Shapirova), Scotland (Nicola Mimnagh), South Africa (Nicole Flint), St. Lucia (Aiasha Gustave), Thailand (Sirirat Rueangsri).
The Continental Queens of Beauty were: Queen of Americas: United States; Queen of Europe: Ireland; Queen of Africa: Botswana; Queen of Asia & Oceania: China; and Queen of Caribbean: Puerto Rico.
Judges
The 60th Miss World winner will be selected by a distinguished panel of beauties, all of them also winners of the Miss World beauty title. On Thursday and Friday, all 115 contestants will have their private interviews to determine who will be the 20 semi finalists who will join the 5 fast-track winners who will advance to the next step of the competition.
The judges for the Miss World 2010 Telecast are: Denise Perrier Lanfranchi, Miss World 1953; Ann Sidney, Miss World 1964; Mary Stävin, Miss World 1977; Agbani Darego, Miss World 2001; Maria Julia Mantilla, Miss World 2004; Zhang Xi Lin, Miss World 2007; and Ksenia Sukhinova, Miss World 2008.
Beach Beauty Fast Track
24-year old Yara Liz Lasanta from Barranquitas, Puerto Rico, is now The first Miss World contestant to be fast-tracked into this year’s semi finals. Congratulations!

Miss Talent
The winner is Miss IRELAND, Emma Waldron! She won a standing ovation by playing the violin. Miss Ireland is now fast-tracked into the Top 25 Semi Finals. Congratulations!
The second place was Miss Wales, Courtenay Hamilton and third place was Miss Guadeloupe, Ericka Aly.

Dress Designer Award
The Miss World Designer Dress Award is given yearly to that dress that captures a unique sense of style. During the Top Model event on Saturday, all the contestants paraded on stage wearing their competition evening gowns. A panel of judges evaluated each dress, and the prize went to Miss French Polynesia, Mihilani Teixeira. Congratulations!
Top Model
Miss World Top Model 2010 is Miss Norway! She is now fast-tracked to the semi-finals. Norway’s Mariann Birkedal, the raven-haired 23-year-old who earned a spot in the final by taking the preliminary Top Model title, is tipped by bookmakers to take the crown-a result that might anger authorities in Beijing.

Beauty with a Purpose
Miss Kenya, Natasha Metto, wins the Beauty with a Purpose competition and is now fast-tracked into the semi finals. The announcement was made as a surprise during the final dress rehearsal in preparation for tomorrow’s competition. The 1st runner-up was Miss Ghana, and the 2nd runner-up was Miss El Salvador.
Miss Kenya’s project consisted of working together with Miss Kenya 2005 in activities and awareness to help treat the jigger worm epidemic in her country.
Natasha now joins Yara Lasanta of Puerto Rico (Beach Beauty), Lori Moore of Northern Ireland (Sports), Mariann Birkedal of Norway (Top Model) and Emma Wadron (Talent) as the fifth and final contestant who is fast-tracked into the Top 25 for the final show.
The remaining 20 contestants will be chosen by the panel of judges.
