The Miss Teen USA pageant took place at the Atlantis, Paradise Island, Bahamas on July 31, 2009.

The reigning Miss Teen USA 2008 Stevi Perry was on hand to crown her successor.

Seth Goldman, who hosted Miss Teen USA 2008 and is part of \"Entertainment Buzz\" on NBC and Miss USA 2008 Crystle Stewart hosted the pageant, as well as Stevi Perry did a short voice-over talking about how you can vote for the new Miss Universe 2009 crown, which is to be held live on August 23, 2009 on NBC. The band Honor Society played and rising star Leah Renee sang.

Stormi Bree Henley of Crossville, Tennessee was crowned Miss Teen USA 2009, and she is the second Tennessee Miss Teen USA winner, which makes Oregon and Tennessee the only two states to crown more than one Miss Teen USA. The other Tennessee titleholder is Shelly Moore, Miss Teen USA 1997.

The first runner up was Brooke Fletcher of Georgia, 17; the second runner up was Chelsea Lauren Gilligan of California, 18; the third runner up was Kasey Staniszewski of Maryland, 18; and the fourth runner-up was Brittany Allison Guidry of Louisiana, 16.

Rounding out the top fifteen was Allison Kusenberger of Arkansas; Jefra Bland of Kentucky; Kristen Danyal of Michigan; Sierra Drimak of Missouri; Lleri Tunraebi of Nevada; Kelsey Stevens of Ohio; Talia Turco of Rhode Island; Tasha Smedley of Utah; Sadie Porter of Washington; and Amy Jane David of Wyoming.

The Miss Congeniality award, along with one-thousand dollars and jewelery from Diamond Nexus Labs, was awarded to Ashley Maria Sagisi Moser of Hawaii and the Miss Photogenic award (with the same prizes was given to Allyson Hovda of Iowa.

The preliminary hosts were Ed Fields and reigning Miss Teen USA 2008 Stevi Perry.

The judges for the Miss Teen USA 2009 pageant were; Duane Gazi, Eva Chen, Mark Turner, Gilligan Sheldon Heckendorf, Heather Kerzner, John Shea, Rhona Graff, and Eric McLendon.
