Coverage of Miss America's Outstanding Teen SystemNote to TFTJ Fans: The first national pageant for this program was held in 2005. Our archives reflect the state pageants that were held in conjunction with state MIss America programs but no national winner was held. Several states across the country have Miss America "little sister" pageants. In other words, they have teen pageants modeled after the Miss America pageant and generally held in conjunctions with the Miss America state and local pageants. There is no national pageant for these lucky state winners, as of yet. The teens compete in 4 phases of competition which include: Interview 40%, Talent 30%, Evening Wear 15% and Swimwear 15%. There are a few exceptions to these categories (such as in Louisiana Teen Princess where there is no talent and sportswear usually replaces swimwear). The Teen pageants usually take place around the same time as their Miss America state pageants. TO ADD OR UPDATE CONTENT TO TFTJ, use the Submission Forms. |
