Megan Alexander, a former pageant titleholder for National American Miss and a frequent emcee for the pageant program, is the new East Coast correspondent for the national TV show "Inside Edition." She also recently judged the Miss Texas USA Pageant in Laredo, Texas.

Debra Kennedy has agreed to come to the Caravelle Resort in Myrtle Beach, SC on May 31, 2008 to hold 4-hour seminars and private coaching.
 
Back by popular demand, Debra Kennedy, Global America Woman 2001, All American Woman 2002, Mrs. NC America 1998, Mrs. NC International 2001, Mrs. NC United States 2005 and National Title holder will make contestants into winners!  Debra has coached many state and national contestants with a winning record and is a sought after judge on the state and national level.  Debra is the Beauty Editor for Supermodels Unlimited Magazine!  She has her own television show in Charlotte, NC called “The Debra Kennedy Show”  and is certainly no stranger to her pageant sisters across the country.  You can check out her website at www.beautytipswithdebra.com.

New Director for the California Latina pageants

The Miss Latin America Organization is proud to announce that the Miss California Latina™ and Miss Teen California Latina™ Pageants have come under the directorship of Jennifer Rodriguez of The Gala Company LLC in Los Angeles. These are the official state preliminaries to select the California delegates to the Miss Latina US™ and Miss Teen US Latina™ national competitions.

“We are very fortunate to have Ms. Rodriguez join our organization,” said President and Founder Acirema Alayeto. “She is an incredibly talented and motivated young Latina, and having been a former beauty pageant finalist herself, she is well-suited to being a role model to her pageant contestants.”

Newly crowned ambassador

The OWA is proud to announce that we have named Tori Vigil as our "Outstanding Woman in America World Ambassador".  Mrs. Vigil previously held the title of "Outstanding Woman in East Texas", for her work in the community and life achievements. She is the first Latina/Native American to receive this honor.

Being crowned the "Outstanding Woman in America World Ambassador" provides Mrs. Vigil with the opportunity to speak about what she believes in most, which is the empowerment of women and youth through truth and knowledge.  Mrs. Vigil works with Youth Advocates, A Helping Hand for Healing Souls, Alamosa Women's Resource Center, and Crisis pregnancy centers.  

Mrs. Vigil will be making local and national appearances and has been asked to speak at Adams State College about abstinence.  Her last book "Surviving the Teenage Journey" has been nominated for several book awards and has touched the lives of teens and their families around the country. Mrs. Vigil has another book soon to be released; "Outstanding Women", which is a biography about the lives of the women who have previously held the title of "Outstanding Woman in America", this book will be released in 2008.  To learn more about Mrs. Vigil visit her site at http://torivigil.tripod.com

Stayc Velarde receives Lifetime Achievement Honor

Stayc Velarde, was inducted into the Outstanding Women In America (O.W.A.) National Honor Society on May 5, 2007. Mrs. Velarde Was presented with a prestigious induction plaque and a diamond cross Pendant at the OWALIVE celebration party in her honor.

The O.W.A. National Honor Society is the only of program of it's kind Designed to celebrate Lifetime Achievement, earning the highest symbol of Acclamation in pageantry of being crowned Outstanding Women In America!

Mrs. Velarde is the former Outstanding Woman in America 2006. The Mission of the O.W.A. National Honor Society Pageant is to honor and Recognize women across the globe who have achieved both personal And professional success. It is the premier National Honor Society for Women of achievement. No scores are given for beauty, candidates qualify For National or World Distinction Titles by submitting their lifetime Achievement portfolio, and credentials to the pageant office.

The recipient of President Bush's Call To Service Award. She is a passionate Supporter and Director for the Dallas Chapter of Queen For A Day. A Spokesperson with the Leukemia/lymphoma Society. A cancer survivor, Battling the disease she emerged an over comer. Mrs. Velarde received the Excellence In Service Award from Virtue International Pageants in 2006 in Honor of the 4,000 Hours of community service. Mrs. Velarde has Been Involved in pageantry for more than 20 years as a Titleholder, Judge And Director. She is also an entrepreneur who operates Cinderella Boot Camp, and GYM-agination.

Current Miss Black Universe dethroned

Effective February 4, 2007 Miss Kimberlee Borland is no longer representing the title of Miss Black Universe 2007 due to conduct unbecoming of a queen and recent questionable photos that have recently surfaced of Miss Borland on several websites.

SDJ Enterprises, LLC and the Miss Black Universe Pageant will be seeking a replacement to finish out the remainder of Miss Borland's 2007 reign until a new Miss Black Universe is crowned in August 2007.

Search is on for 2007 delegates

The search is on for Ms. Curves America 2007, and the NEW! Ms. Curves America Teen 2007. The reigning Ms. Curves America Ruby 2006 is Turia McCummings. Ms. Curves America Emerald 2006 is Joi Bannister.

To compete in the National Pageant to be held March 17-18, 2007 in Timonium, Maryland, contestants must be at least a size 14, a woman age 18 o r older; single or married and may have children, or a teen between the ages of 13-19 eligible.

BRANDIE SEIFERT IS CROWNED MRS. TEXAS OUTSTANDING WOMAN 2007-8

Stafford, TX: Brandie Seifert is the newly crowned Mrs. Texas Outstanding Woman 2007-8. She and her husband are new residents of Stafford, Texas. Mrs. Seifert will advance to the OWALIVE Pageant next May to compete for The National Title of Outstanding Woman in America in Houston, Texas.

Mrs. Seifert is a make-up artist. As the OWALIVE Official Artist of 2005, She knew this was an opportunity to join a pageant that was not based on beauty, but rather achievements both professionally and personally. Mrs. Texas is Passionate about child rights and advocacy. Her platform is helping children who Have suffered from abuse. As an over comer in her own life, she plan of making Sure her voice is heard in the fight against child abuse.
