Local Directors for 2009 Wanted

The Mrs. Texas United States Pageant, licensed to Queen Bee Productions for the last four years, has announced plans to actively look for local directors for the 2009 pageant season, which begins August 1, 2008.

Applications are being accepted from individuals and groups who wish to produce a local preliminary competition in their geographic area. There will be no additional franchise fees other than the state entry fee, which will not change for 2009. A compensation plan will also be in place to encourage more contestants other than the local winner from the geographic area given to the local director.

Local competitions may be held September 1, 2008 through April 1, 2009. The state competition is scheduled for April 17-19, 2009 in Frisco, Texas.

Queen Bee Productions is owned by Erika Lafata (Howe), who was Mrs. Texas United States 2000. She was a local director for Miss Texas USA and Miss Texas Teen USA from 1998-2002 and had two local winners win the Miss Texas Teen USA title back-t0-back, with one placing 3rd runner up at the nationally televised Miss Teen USA pageant. She has been involved in pageantry 23 years as a contestant, consultant, judge, emcee, and director/producer.

The 2008 Mrs. Texas United States competition is scheduled April 25-27, 2008 at the host hotel Westin Stonebriar Resort in Frisco, Texas.

Stephanie Hunt Mrs. United States 2007 is raising funds for the Rubinstein-Taybi Family Research Fund through sales of a T-Shirt made available through Cafe Press.

Sales of the Every Child A Cure T-Shirt will benefit the Rubinstein-Taybi Family Research Fund. This T was designed by Uncle Matthew, lettered by big Brother Jordan, and colored by Donnie.

"We asked what made Donnie like this and she (Mom) talked about DNA and stuff so we thought why not make a strand. We helped Donnie color it in. Mom said how funny it was because that's what's wrong. Something went wrong in his DNA. He kept coloring outside the lines. " Jordan Huff

New Baby in Illinois

Former Mrs. United States '05 Chiann Fan Gibson and well known pageant MC, husband James, are the proud parents of James Keith Gibson III. He was born on January 31 and weighed in at 8lbs 9 oz and 21 inches.

At the ripe old age of two weeks he is now 9lbs 2 oz. Congratulations to the new parents. I'm sure there will be another Gibson in the pageantry world in the future.
