Unofficial Preliminary to Miss SC USA/Miss SC Teen USA Seeks Delegates

Carolina Pageant Productions, an unofficial preliminary to the Miss Universe Organization is looking for young ladies between the ages of 15 - 26 to compete for the titles of Miss Carolina Foothills - SC, Miss Carolina Foothills Teen - SC, Miss Palmetto - SC, Miss Palmetto Teen - SC, Miss Piedmont - SC, and Miss Piedmont Teen - SC 2007/2008. The pageant will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2007 in Spartanburg, SC.

"Our organization hopes to provide not only an annual competition for the young ladies in our state, but an outlet for them to grow as a young lady and a person. We hope to provide an avenue for them to be successful in the world and in life; through invaluable lessons in public speaking and presentation skills, and the self-confidence to be their best personal self. This years competition is extremely exciting because it is the first ever competition for Carolina Pageant Productions," says Jeremy Smith director at Carolina Pageant Productions. Mr. Smith has over eleven years of pageantry experience on the local and state level.

The new titleholders for Carolina Pageant Productions will be selected based on personality, physical fitness in swimsuit, and evening gown. The top five finalists in both the miss and teen competitions will compete in an onstage personality competition in the final moments of the pageant.

"We are not looking for some façade of who you are. We want the you that you are off the stage. Confidence, composure, and beauty from within exuding out will win this competition. Carolina Pageant Productions was formed with the ladies of South Carolina in mind. We are a group of educated and experienced young professionals who wish to provide an opportunity to help guide the young women of South Carolina to their personal best and to define beauty with a purpose. "

Each contestant must meet the criteria set forth by Carolina Pageant Productions and the Miss Universe Organization. Including; being a resident of South Carolina at least one month prior to the competition or a student in South Carolina.

Miss South Carolina USA/Miss South Carolina Teen USA Pageants are official preliminaries to the Miss USA, Miss Universe, and Miss Teen USA Organization. The program gives the ladies of South Carolina an opportunity to become their best self through community involvement and fair competition.

Date of Miss Teen USA 2007 announced

Paula M. Shugart, President of the Miss Universe Organization, announced today that the 25th Annual Miss Teen USA Competition will be held in Pasadena, California on August 24th, 2007. The 2007 Miss Teen USA pageant will take place within the walls of Pasadena's greatest indoor sports and entertainment facility, the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, and broadcast live nationwide on NBC at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

Montana native, Katie Blair, Miss Teen USA 2006, spent her reign this past year traveling the nation as a spokesperson for various teen issues as well as participating in numerous community service projects around the country. Blair will crown her successor at the conclusion of the two-hour primetime telecast, before an estimated viewing audience of 250 million.

Along with Executive Producer, Donald J. Trump, and veteran television writer and executive producer Phil Gurin, the Gurin Company will again produce Miss Teen USA 2007.

The Hilton Pasadena is the official Host Hotel of Miss Teen USA 2007.

State First Runner-Up Scores Hot Fiance

In November, 2005, Kenzie Dalton, who competed in the Miss North Carolina Teen USA 2006 pageant and placed first runner-up to Melissa Lingafelt.

In March 2006, she announced her engagement to actor Chad Michael Murray was announced, just a few months before her High School graduation. Apparently, Kenzie didn't let her 1st runner-up status get her down, as she appeared as an extra on his television show One Tree Hil (where she met Chad) one month after the 2005 pageant. Sadly, the couple's timing was off as Chad was married to Sophia Bush. Yet in early 2006, Chad and Sophia annulled their marriage and shortly there after Chad announced his engagement to Kenzie.

Kenzie's mother, Jeannie Dalton, was Miss North Carolina USA 1982, and she and her sisters placed as runners-up in the Miss North Carolina pageant in three consecutive years: her older sister Kristen placed first runner-up in the 2005 event and her sister Julia placed second runner-up in 2007.

Henning Goes to Salem

Shelley Henning, Miss Teen USA 2004, has joined the cast of Days of Our Lives,

Shelley plays the role of Stephanie Kay Johnson, daughter of supercouple Steve Johnson and Kayla Brady, born on screen in 1990. Stephanie is an up and coming race car driver, and upon arriving in Salem, began to develop romantic feelings for her adopted uncle, Max Brady, a fellow racer. However, following a car crash invovling the two, Max admitted he wanted to break up with her.

In January 2007, Stephanie received a job offer to work for another racing team in Dayton, Ohio and left Salem. She returned again on April 20, 2007, due to her father's condition.

Miss Teen USA let go as spokesperson for MADD

Mothers Against Drunk Driving severed ties with Miss Teen USA Katie Blair on Tuesday after reports surfaced that she was drinking with fellow under-aged beauty queen, Miss USA Tara Conner.

Blair, the 18-year-old Montana woman who was crowned Miss Teen USA in August in Palm Springs, will no longer advocate on behalf of MADD like former teen queens.

"In the past, MADD has teamed with the Miss Teen organization to raise awareness about the serious and often deadly consequences of underage drinking. However, at this time, we do not feel that Ms. Blair is an appropriate representative for MADD on the issue of underage drinking," the statement read. It also said officials at the national organization that champions sobriety were "disappointed" with Blair's behavior.

Lark-Marie Anton, a spokeswoman for the Miss Universe Organization, said in an e-mail that Blair's crown is not in jeopardy.
