The U.S. Army Reserves has answered the nation's call for 100 years and today Miss America 2008 Kirsten Haglund will answer the call when she joins this organization to mark a spectacular celebration in Washington, DC.

Kirsten will kick off the military events on the west lawn of the White House and join 100 Army Reserve Soldiers who will be re-enlisting on this historic day. She will perform the national anthem and honor their dedication to our country.

The celebration culminates with Miss America's attendance at the U.S. Army Reserves 100th Anniversary Gala. Kirsten will be joined in the celebration along with government officials, distinguished soldiers and US Army Reserve Heroes who have recently returned from Iraq. This evening will be patriotic, symbolic and filled with so many highlights to mark a century of service to America that began in 1908. Kirsten will speak on behalf of a grateful nation to this distinguished group.

Miss America 2008 Kirsten Haglund is proud to be a part of the Celebration of the Century and will join in the salute to the next generation of soldiers to carry on this proud tradition into the next century.
