Source: Joe Whiteko Atlanta television station WXIA-TV sponsors the Can-a-thon every Christmas season in conjunction with the Salvation Army. Local residents are urged to donate cans of food to be distributed to the needy in the Atlanta area. Kimberly Gittings, Miss Georgia USA, and Brooke Fletcher, Miss Georgia Teen USA, were on hand at one of the collection sights. Paul Ossmann, popular weather personality and emcee of the Miss Georgia USA Pageant, had both young women on with him during several of his evening weather shows.
