Source: photo credit: Robert Daniel Photography On May 16th, 2009 the 1 of 7 March for Babies walks took place at Greeley Park in Nashua, NH. Over 200 walkers came out to walk in support of March of Dimes and their mission to help prevent premature birth, birth defects, infant mortality and giving babies the ability to have a healthy start thru funding of research and eduation. Irene Raissis Alton, Mrs. New Hampshire United States 2009 has been involved witht he March of Dimes since 2002 where she now serves on the planning committee for this walk and worked with some wonderful people who are diligent about raising funds and awareness for the March of Dimes. This walk alone raised over $44,000 that will go towards research and education to help the mission of the March of Dimes. "As a woman, mother and Mrs. New Hampshire, I am so very excited to have joined forces with and be a part of the March for Babies Campaign here in New Hampshire! I feel so passionate about the March of Dimes because I believe that every child has the right to a healthy beginning. The March of Dimes champions the needs of moms and babies in our community and across the nation. The money that is raised for March for Babies supports lifesaving research, services, education and advocacy that help babies get a healthy start."
