Click here for pictures of the event! The Miss California America pageant took place on June, 28 2008 in Fresno, CA. Miss California 2007 Melissa Chaty was on hand to crown her successor. Final Results Miss Hollywood Jackie Geist won the Miss California America 2008 Pageant on Saturday night in the Saroyan Theatre in downtown Fresno. "It's been the most amazing week of my life," Geist said. "This is such a blessing for me." Geist, 22, is a student at California State University, Sacramento, and her hometown is Vacaville. Geist danced a ballet number in the talent competition and won preliminary competitions in talent and evening wear earlier in the week. The first runner-up was Miss Los Angeles County Jolie LaCroix. Miss City of Los Angeles Megan Lyne was the second runner-up, Miss Pasadena Kristen Cavinder third and Miss Sonoma County Sara Choi fourth. The remaining semifinalists were: Miss City of Orange Emily Brandenburg, Miss Culver City Melissa Youssef, Miss Marin County Heather Gordon, Miss North Coast Nicole Honaker, Miss Northern California Regional Jillian Stout, Miss Northern Counties Maggie Stewart, and Miss Sierra Nevada Jennifer Lee Special awards presented were:

Miss City of Orange Emily Bradenburg won the final night evening gown award. Miss City of Los Angeles Megan Lyne was the Friday winner of Physical Fitness in Swimsuit.
Thursday Prelim Results Jillian Stout, competing as Miss Northern California Regional this year, won the talent competition Thursday night in the Miss California Pageant in Fresno. Stout sang an operatic number. Miss Hollywood Jackie Geist was named the Thursday Physical Fitness in Swimsuit winner. Wednesday Prelim Results The Miss California Pageant kicked off four nights of competition Wednesday at Saroyan Theatre in downtown Fresno. Miss Sonoma County Sara Choi won the preliminary talent competition, and Miss Hollywood Jackie Geist won the preliminary evening wear competition. Miss Northern California Regional Jillian Stout was named the Physical Fitness in Swimsuit winner for Wednesday.

No stranger to the pageant stage, Jacie's past successes have been: 1st runner up Miss California Teen USA 2002, 3rd runner up Miss Teenage California 2004, Miss Teen of the Nation 2004, Miss Teen Paradise Valley 2000, Miss Teen Vacaville 2002, and Miss Vaca Valley 2006. California Trivia:
California has a tradition of not announcing their state preliminary swimsuit winners until the Sunday brunch where all the other awards are given out.
The state of California and Oklahoma are tied the most Miss America's with a total of six, three of them in the 40's.
Quite a number of California beauties made the semifinals representing their cities as well as their state. They first made the semifinalist list when Violet Regal, representing San Francisco, CA made it in 1923. California ladies were also semifinalists in 1927, 1935, 1945, 1951, 1954, 1957, 1962, 1964, 1974, and 1978, In the 2002 pageant Stephanie Baldwin made the top 20.
California was back in the top five in 2003 as Nicole Lamarch finished as 4th runner up. Veena Goel made it back-to-back fourth runner ups in 2004, She was also a preliminary talent winner. Melissa Chaty was a top 8 finisher in 2008. Kristy Cavender was 1st runner up to Caressa Cameron in 2010. She was also a prelim talent winner.
